Most of what happens to us in life happens off-screen, unscripted and unseen by billions with very few commercial breaks. There are consequences to our choices in real life that oftentimes linger longer than a half hour and if we want something better for ourselves we have to actually get up and change the channel.

We are rarely heroes for very long and almost never completely the villain. We are not supplied with stand- ins, understudies or stunt men for our biggest falls, but the same is true for our greatest successes and special effects. And there is just enough heavenly about us all to keep us going onward and upward. Families, friends, and strangers for that matter, as messy and imperfect as they are, give us a tiny glimpse of what could be divine and what is beautifully beyond the constraints of earthly time.
